Understanding Your Billing Statement

Updated Billing Statements

Skyline Health’s updated billing statements are designed to be clear and easy to understand so you can feel more confident about your health care costs. Here’s how we’re simplifying your experience:

  • Clear, easy-to-read statements
  • Less mail per household
  • Online and mobile payment options

While the look of the statement has changed, the important billing details remain the same. Below is a guide to help you navigate the information included in your statement.

    1. Patient Balance – Amount Due
The top right corner of the page shows the outstanding balance for all visits you as the financially responsible party (guarantor). This will not include visits still in process with insurance or reoccurring visits currently ongoing, such as physical therapy.
    2. Important Messages
This section, located below the Amount Due, provides important information about the status of your account or additional information that you need to know.
    3. Account Summary
This section summarizes balances due and indicates any payment plans established. You will also find your Account Number here, which will be useful if you need to speak with someone about your bill.
    4. Payment Options
If your account balances exceed $100, you may be eligible to set up a payment plan. This section provides a quick summary of options. Additional information is available on the Bill Pay page.
    5. Payment Methods
This section outlines your payment method options. For your convenience, you have many options to make your payment including:
      • Online bill pay
      • Pay by Phone
      • Scan the QR code on your statement for a direct link to online bill pay
      • Pay by mail
      • Bring your payment to the hospital
    1. Payment Coupon
The payment coupon is located toward the bottom of the billing statement.
    2. Details of Account(s)
This section provides a thorough detail of each visit including:

      • Where the visit took place (hospital, clinic or rehabilitation)
      • Date of the visit
      • Explanation of each charge and the dollar amount
      • Applied payments from insurance
      • Applied payments from the guarantor
      • The remaining amount due for a visit

To manage your billing notifications, visit the payment portal at myskylinehealth.org/billpay. On the bottom right of the screen, select “See Manage Notifications.” From there, you can turn email and text reminders on or off, update your contact information, and sign up for paperless billing.
